What a listing has to contain

We turn down roughly a third of what we are sent, almost always over pay. It is not a moral position — it is the only way the board is worth reading.

A salary range, in numbers

A real band, no wider than about 20%. "Competitive" and "depending on experience" are rejections, not placeholders. If the band moves after an offer, tell us and we will update the listing.

Required

The process, written out

How many conversations, who is in each one, and what happens between them. If there is a task, say how long it takes and what it pays.

Required

A reply to everyone who applies

Within four weeks, even if it is one line. We check. Companies that go quiet come down, and we tell the candidates who applied that they have.

Required

What the first ninety days look like

The single thing candidates tell us they want most and see least. It is optional because we cannot verify it — but listings that include it get roughly twice the applications.

Optional

A board where every listing names its number is worth more to you than to us.

Candidates who know the range self-select. You spend fewer hours on conversations that were never going to end in an offer.
